Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among all peoples. Psalm 96:38

Paraguay

Since 1998, St. Matthew has been involved in mission work in Paraguay. Medical teams and construction teams to the South American country each year to help the Methodist Church of Paraguay reach people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Throughout the entire country, you will find church buildings, parsonages, and camps that were built by people from St. Matthew. There are people in that nation whose very lives were saved by medical treatment from St. Matthew’s medical team. There are many today who know Jesus Christ because of the missionaries and mission work that the church supports.

Red Bird Mission

Red Bird Mission is an outreach of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church. It is just 42 miles from the Cumberland Gap in the Appalachian Mountains of Kentucky. Some of the poorest of our country live there. The work camp at Red Bird continues projects from march through October. This is a large part of the work at Red Bird, but not all of it. Churches all across the US send in Campbell Soup labels to help provide transportation for the camp. The camp also has a medical clinic and a dental clinic that sees 350 patients a month. There is also a K-12 Christian School operated and supported by the mission. Red Bird Mission lifts high the name of Jesus Christ in everything the do.

Global Missionaries

St. Matthew offers continuous financial and prayer support for many missionaries around the World. Once a year the church hosts a missions conference where it flies in dozens of missionaries to speak to the church in hopes of raising more support, gathering new servants the Lord may have prepared, and to just share with the church all they have been able to accomplish through God’s help.

Local Outreach

Food Pantry The St.Matthew Food Pantry seeks to aid local families by supplying them with a healthy variety of food on a regular basis in their time of need. The Food Pantry also supplies food baskets at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter so that these families may experience the love and generosity of God through His people.

Thrift Store The St. Matthew Thrift Store seeks to help serve the material needs of the surrounding community. It is a place for people to buy low-cost clothing and other merchandise for their families. The Thrift Store is completely run by volunteers and the goods they sell are donated by church members and other families around the community.

Christian Activity Center (CAC) – East St. Louis The St.Matthew Young Adults and Youth ministries both take active rolls throughout the year in bringing aid and fellowship to the children of the CAC. They help sponser fund raisers, youth activities, and material aid for the surrounding communities.
